How Timid Cambridge Ladies Might Recycle

Nothing too used to discard
Not my little baby body
Save it, it might come in handy.
Label it, store it.
String too short to use
Tags from Christmas presents
To be used again next year.

Now I’m a real Cambridge lady
With a collection of rubber bands
Scraps of yarn, old screws thick with paint
(My little baby body crusted over)
Not too used to discard – yet.

And could a Cambridge lady
In a fit of delirium
Take all those things together
And make – what?
Something of it after all?
